Dan Fontanelli works exclusively within the world of art, design and craft making online video content and documentary film. Subjects, to mention a few, include everything from Henry Moore sculpture to vintage cars, contemporary artists and designers, exhibitions, Japanese art and 20th Century design & architecture. Current projects include creating the online video content for Bonhams Auctioneers, a series on 20th century design for SKANDIUM (as one half of GESWERK Films – www.geswerkfilms.com) and documentary projects including ‘The Life and Work of Hans Schleger’ one of the great forgotten graphic designers of the 20th Century.

Sean O’Flynn – Bespoke Shirtmaker

Sean O’Flynn is a Master Craftsman. He began his career in shirt making at the age of 16 with an apprenticeship at Huntsman while at the same time attending the London College of Fashion. From Huntsmans Sean moved to become the Head Cutter at New and Lingwood in Jermyn St, one of the oldest and most respected bespoke shirt makers. There, he ran the bespoke shirt making business and oversaw the ‘ready to wear’ range. In 2005 Sean began his own business in Sackville St. He has worked in and around Saville row for the last 32 years and is widely recognised as one of the very finest shirtmakers.

Living Finmar Documentary

‘Living Finmar’ is the story of Finmar Ltd., c.1948 – 1965, the first major importer of mid-century design into the UK. It’s the story of one mans vision of a new way of life, Paul Von Stemann, and his personal relationships with some of the greatest designers of the twentieth century. Alvar Aalto, Hans Wegner, Borge Morgensen, Hans Schleger, to mention a few, were all close friends.

A short film on Netsuke

Netsuke. Practical objects originally made to hold small containers in place, attached to the end of a cord that ran underneath a belt as part of a mans outfit in 17th century Japan. They evolved into miniature sculptures made with extreme skill by the craftsmen of the day.
